GALENA, IL : 1 dead in motorcycle crash near Galena on U.S. 20 about a half-mile east of Powder House Hill Road on Tuesday, 2nd July 2019

One man was killed Wednesday when he was ejected from his motorcycle just east of Galena.

Rulen D. Wigtion, 55, of Rockford, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Illinois State Police.

The crash occurred at about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 20 about a half-mile east of Powder House Hill Road. A press release issued Thursday states that Wigtion was driving a motorcycle pulling a small trailer when he lost control of the vehicle. He was thrown from the bike onto the pavement.
