Gaston County , NC : 30- Years old Aaron Sanders Hospitalized in Hit and Run Accidentafter clipped by an oncoming car that swerved into his lane on Wednesday ,April 1st 2015

A former volunteer firefighter from Gaston County is hospitalized after family members said he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident.

Aaron Sanders, 30, was driving his motorcycle on McAdenville road Wednesday evening. According to Sanders' brother, Kenny Buchanan, he was clipped by an oncoming car that swerved into his lane.

“It would be great if you would come forward,” Buchanan said. “My brother just started his job a month ago. His insurance has not picked up yet and it is going to be hard to cover medical bills and raise three kids. At least apologize for changing my brother's life forever. He deserves at least that much.”

Sanders broke multiple bones in one foot and it may have to be amputated, Buchanan said.

WBTV reached out to police for information about the investigation. Highway Patrol officers were able to confirm that the accident occurred, but the police report had not been filed as of Thursday morning.

“We understand that it wasn't malicious. It was an accident, but just if they can come forward and let us know their insurance information, anything would help,” said Jaren Buchanan, Sanders' sister-in-law.

Buchanan said a witness described the suspect's vehicle as an early 2000s, dark blue or black sedan. The witness told Sanders' brother that the car appeared to be a Mitsubishi and it had scratches on the driver-side door.
