Ashford, NY : 11-year-old bicyclist killed in collision with pickup in Cattaraugus County on Monday, April 11, 2016

An 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle was struck and killed Monday in Cattaraugus County.

The collision between the bicycle and a pickup happened at 5:15 p.m. on Gooseneck Road in the Town of Ashford, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office said.

The 11-year-old, whose name was not released, was taken to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The pickup was driven by Joseph D. Flynn of West Valley. He has not been charged but the investigation is ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.
