Allentown, PA : Angry man is handcuffed after Upper Nazareth 2-vehicle crash on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016
Two-vehicle collision Tuesday night on Route 248 in Upper Nazareth Township led to a confrontation with an angry man who may have had a knife, according to emergency radio reports.
The accident happened 8:50 p.m. on Route 248 at Mayfair Place, just east of Bath. Almost immediately, fire officials learned that a "combative man," possibly armed, was arguing with a second person on the scene.
Route 248 between Christmas Avenue and Penn Dixie Road was shut down while township police took the 45-year-old man into custody and paramedics arrived to treat him and a second person.
No one was reported injured in the clash after the crash.
A 43-year-old woman with minor neck and belly pain was taken by ambulance to an area hospital at 9:30 p.m. The man, handcuffed and accompanied by police, was taken to the hospital 15 minutes later.
