Somerton, AZ : Drivers uninjured in 2-car crash in Somerton on Wednesday morning, May 18, 2016
A two-car crash occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Bingham Avenue in Somerton Wednesday morning. Both drivers involved were uninjured and refused medical treatment at the scene.
According to the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department, firefighters responded to the intersection at approximately 7:28 a.m. in response to an accident involving two midsize sedans, each with one occupant.
Both the 17-year-old male driver and the 32-year-old female driver were wearing their seatbelts and appeared to be uninjured. Neither car had an airbag deployment.
Paramedics from the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department, however, examined them both anyway to ensure that they were fine.
While it appears that one of the vehicles ran a red light and struck the other, causing moderate front end damage to both vehicles, the Somerton Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
