Police continue to investigate after a driver hit two pedestrians and crashed into a souvenir shop. The accident happened on the corner of Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, Monday. Police said a female was driving southbound on Collins Avenue, at around 7 a.m., when she hit two pedestrians before crashing into Alvin's Island Souvenir Shop. Police said the driver claimed she was trying to avoid something on the road. "It's unknown if there was any other cars involved," said Miami Beach Police Detective Vivian Thayer. "Our investigators are canvassing the area for video and witnesses to see if there in fact was another vehicle involved. At this point, what we do know, is that that one vehicle claims that there was something that led her to go into the store." Officials said one victim is listed in critical condition and the other is listed in stable condition. They were both transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The driver was not injured, and the store was closed at the time of the incident. The intersection at Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road remains closed while police continue their investigation.
