Monett, MO : 2 injured in wreck north of Pierce City on Sunday, March 19th 2017

Two Wentworth residents were injured Sunday in a wreck at 6 a.m. on Highway 97, two miles north of Pierce City.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Tony Raley, 22, of Wentworth, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet pickup northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2008 Chevrolet pickup, being driven by Nathaniel Lopez, 37, of Rocky Comfort.

Raley suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. A passenger in his vehicle, Trenton Liggett, 15, of Wentworth, suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Freeman West. Lopez was not injured.

It is unknown if Raley and Liggett were wearing safety devices. Lopez was wearing one. Both vehicles were totaled.
