JERICHO, VT : 9-year-old bicyclist killed in crash with SUV on Thursday, 27th August, 2020

A 9-year-old bicyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV in Jericho on Thursday, according to officials with Vermont State Police.

Police say the vehicle was traveling westbound on Vermont Route 15 when the child entered the roadway on a bicycle at the intersection of Lawrence Heights and was struck. A report of the crash was made to police at approximately 2:25 p.m.Neither speed nor impairment were factors in the crash, according to police.

Vermont Route 15 was closed to public traffic for approximately four hours following the crash.
