FORT WORTH, TX : Wreck at Northwest High School sends 2 to hospital on Thursday, 25th August, 2016
Several students were injured slightly on Thursday morning when a car rear-ended a loaded school bus at Northwest High School in far north Fort Worth, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.
MedStar originally expected to take eight students to the hospital, but that number was reduced to two, a boy and a girl. Two adults the drivers of the bus and the car were treated at the scene.
The bus was carrying 45 students.The wreck happened about 8:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Texan Drive, near Texas Motor Speedway, according to a Fort Worth police report.
The car, a small sedan, rear-ended the bus, police spokesman Daniel Segura said.
The car was “possibly beginning to ignite,” according to the report, but firefighters quickly contained the blaze, fire spokesman Kyle Falkner said.
