MILAM COUNTY, TX : DPS investigating fatal crash on FM 485 in Milam County on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023

A two-vehicle crash in Milam County left one man dead and another seriously injured.

According to the Milam County Sheriff’s Office, it happened Wednesday afternoon along FM 485 near CR 260.

Haider Ali Mamin, 61, of Sugar Land was traveling east in a van on FM 485. Another driver traveling west on FM 485 was in the wrong lane, approaching the van head-on. In an attempt to avoid each other, both vehicles swerved to the westbound lane, colliding.
