Monroe, OH: 6-vehicle crash clogs NB I-75 in Monroe on Wednesday, July 15th 2015
The crash scene was cleared around 10:30 p.m., more than six hours after the crash was reported, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lebanon Post.Northbound Interstate 75 remains clogged more than four hours after a multi-vehicle crash shut down the highway.Two lanes remain blocked near the Ohio 63 interchange.The multi-vehicle accident that has shut down Interstate 75 north near Cincinnati Premium Outlets has traffic backed up to the I-275 interchange in Hamilton County, according to an eye witness. Cincinnati-Dayton Road through West Chester, Liberty Twp. and Monroe also remain clogged with vehicles as drivers try an alternate route to the interstate. Interstate 75 is still shut down at this time, but the Ohio State Highway Patrol — the agency handling the accident — is reporting the number of vehicles involved is at six. Interstate 75 north has been shut down for a multi-vehicle accident near Cincinnati Premium Outlets.Traffic approaching Ohio 129 heading north on the interstate diverted to northbound Cincinnati-Dayton Road, and motorists attempting to enter I-75 northbound from Ohio 129 is being diverted south.Butler County dispatch reports one person has been transported to an area hospital for undisclosed injuries following an accident this afternoon. Some callers reported there were up to five vehicles involved in the accident that happened around 4:20 p.m.Liberty Twp. and Monroe emergency medical crews responded to the accident near mile marker 28 on I-75.
