SMYRNA, TN : 10 students, driver injured in Smyrna school bus crash on Monday, 24th October 2016
A school bus driver and several students were injured in a school bus crash in Smyrna on Monday morning.
According to officials, two cars were involved in a wreck at the intersection of Old Nashville Highway and Hazelwood Drive. One of those vehicles lost control and hit the school bus on the driver's side.
The bus was reportedly heading to Smyrna High School.
The bus driver and 10 students were transported to the hospital, according to the communications director for Rutherford County Schools. Their injuries are not expected to be serious.
The northbound lane of Old Nashville Highway was closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
