Two police officers were treated for minor injuries following a crash on South Main Street on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m.
Police say the officers were heading north on South Main Street with the lights and siren activated on the marked Ford Explorer cruiser, responding to a call of a suspect with a dangerous weapon.
The cruiser collided with a 2016 Toyota Prius driven by a 65-year-old man from East Falmouth, police report. The Prius was pulling out of Osborn Street onto South Main Street into the path of the cruiser, police allege.
The driver of the Prius was issued a citation. He declined the offer of medical treatment, police say. The officers were taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
Police did not release the names of the individuals involved in the accident.
