ASHEBORO, NC : Asheboro woman injured in 2-vehicle accident on N.C. 42 on Monday, January, 22nd 2018

A 79-year-old Asheboro woman was taken to a Greensboro hospital after an accident on N.C. 42 Monday afternoon.

According to a report from the Asheboro Police Department, Emily McKenzie Pell was northbound on N.C. 42 in a 2013 Chevrolet SUV at about 4 p.m. Master Police Officer T.R. Kindley reported that Patsy K. Cummings, 74, of Liberty, was attempting to turn left onto N.C. 42 from Dublin Square Road when her Kia SUV hit the front right corner of the Chevrolet.

Police said Pell sustained an arm injury and was transported to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital for treatment. A passenger was not injured. Cummings was charged with failure to yield.
