Vancleave ,MS : 41-year-old Travis Mallette killed and other injured after Head-on collision in Jackson County on Saturday ,June 13th 2015

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says two trucks were involved in a head-on collision Saturday, killing one of the drivers.

They got a 911 call about an accident on Paige Bayou View Road just before 6:00 pm in Vancleave. The sheriff says 41-year-old Travis Mallette of Vancleave was driving a black Ford Ranger pickup truck that collided head-on with a Ford F150 driven by 32-year-old Jerrod Thorton, also of Vancleave.

Mallett was pronounced dead on the scene. Thorton was taken to Gulfport Memorial Hospital. He's expected to be released on Monday.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
