Sturgis,MI : Indiana man killed in crash on August, Saturday 19th 2017

A 28-year-old Indiana man was killed in a one-car crash early Saturday morning, while his 27-year-old passenger from Michigan City, Ind., was airlifted to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. St. Joseph County Sheriff deputies said Randall Mantz, from Portage, Ind., was westbound in the 19000 block of M-60 in Lockport Township when his vehicle left the road and struck several large trees. Mantz was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:02 a.m. crash. His passenger was trapped and had to be extricated. M-60 between Leland and Schweitzer was closed for several hours while police reconstructed the crash. Assisting deputies were members of the Three Rivers Fire Department and MDOT officials. The crash remains under investigation.
