A 26-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Severn, a county fire official said.

When units responded at 1:50 a.m. to the crash at Telegraph Road and Washington Avenue, they found a pickup truck had struck a telephone pole, said department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies.

The man was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening, Davies said.
