DeKalb County, IN : Texas man dies in overnight I-69 crash in DeKalb County near the 337 mile marker on Wednesday, August 20, 2014
A 27-year-old man died early Wednesday after crashing and rolling his vehicle on Interstate 69 in DeKalb County near the 337 mile marker.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department said the man, identified as Ihtsham Waseem of Richardson, Texas, was driving southbound when, shortly before 3 a.m., his 2004 Pontiac Torrent left the road on the east side. Waseem over-corrected and crossed back over to the west side, leaving the road.
The vehicle slid facing eastbound until it struck a ditch embankment and overturned 1 1/2 times before coming to rest on the driver's side.
Waseem, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
