BATON ROUGE, LA : BRPD motorcycle officer involved in crash on Cora. Dr. on Thursday, 14th March 2019

Another Baton Rouge motorcycle officer has been hit while on duty.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said that "around 11:35 a.m. we had a motorcycle officer involved in a crash while providing traffic assistance for a funeral."

The motorcycle officer was traveling north on Cora Dr. and was struck by a vehicle.

BRPD said the vehicle that hit the motorcycle officer was "turning off of Florida Blvd. onto Cora Dr."

While in transit the motorcycle officer did have "his emergency equipment activated," according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The motorcycle officer was sent to a local hospital after the crash.
