Newport News, VA : 60-year-old Sandra E. Balance struck and killed by a car while walking on a road early Sunday morning, March 1, 2015

Newport News police are searching for a driver whose vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian.

Police tell media outlets that 60-year-old Sandra E. Balance of Hampton was hit by a car while walking on a road early Sunday morning. The car didn't stop.

Balance died at the scene.

Police say the car likely has front end damage and could be missing a windshield wiper.
