1dead, 1 seriously hurt in Far South Side crash

A man died and a woman was seriously injured in a 2-car traffic crash on the Far South Side this morning, police said.Two cars collided at 10:35 a.m. in the 3300 block of East 100th Street, said police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

Dead was Timothy Schnur, 31, of the 100 block of Mulligan Court in Schaumburg, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Schnur was declared dead at the University of Chicago medical center at 10:57 a.m.

One person was dead on the scene and another was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.The hospitalized victim is a woman, said police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.
