25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies After crash Near Columbus Ohio

A man was pronounced dead after crashing his motorcycle in Columbus Saturday afternoon.According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Charles D. Bickel II was riding his motorcycle along Interstate 270 near state Route 315 at about 12:15 p.m. Saturday, when he attempted to change lanes and lost control.

Officials said that he went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.Bickel, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he died.

According to Bickel's father, he was an Iraq War veteran and an active reservist Marine sergeant with the Lima Company out of Cleveland.

The accident currently is under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
