Brighton Township, OH : Three teens injured, one critical in Pitts Road crash on Saturday evening, February 13, 2016

A weather-related car crash sent three juveniles to the hospital Saturday evening.
Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Justin Lister said five juveniles from Wellington were in a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by Michael Collins when the vehicle went off the road on Pitts Road about 6:30 p.m. and hit a tree.
The passengers were Josh Taylor, Cody Langdon, Brandon Slope and Michael Fazio. Lister said Fazio, who was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred, was unconscious at the scene when first responders arrived but still breathing.
Fazio and two of the other passengers, whom Lister said had nonlife-threatening injuries, were taken to Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin by ambulance. Lister said a helicopter was called, but could not fly to the scene due to weather conditions, and Fazio was still unconscious when taken from the scene.
A nursing supervisor at Mercy Allen Hospital said Fazio was treated in the emergency room and sent to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland in critical condition.
Collins was headed north on Pitts Road when he came over a hill and hit a patch of snow and lost control of the vehicle, spinning off the right side of the road and hitting a tree, Lister said.
Lister said there is no reason to believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which appears to have been purely weather-related.
