Medford,OR : Rollover crash kills Rogue River woman, injures man on July, Wednesday 5th 2017
A rollover crash outside Rogue River and Wimer Wednesday night claimed the life of a Rogue River woman and seriously injured a Rogue River man.
Darlene Harris, 37, died in the 3000 block of East Evans Creek Road about 9:38 p.m. after she was ejected from a white 1999 Ford F-250 pickup and was pinned underneath the wreckage, according to a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office release. The driver, Richard Stocke, 46, was also ejected from the truck and suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was taken to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Harris and Stocke were the only two people in the vehicle, according to Lt. Rick Kennedy with the sheriff’s office. Kennedy said it appeared seat belts weren’t used at the time of the crash, based on the fact that both were ejected from the truck. He said the county Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team is still investigating the crash.
“All that technical stuff will be analyzed through STAR,” Kennedy said.
The Jackson County District Attorney’s office is looking into criminal charges in the wreck, according to Kennedy. Alcohol and speed were believed to have played roles in the crash.
