Two killed in collision with tractor-trailer in Arkansas

A driver and a passenger were killed Wednesday when the car they were in pulled into the path of a tractor trailer in Ashdown, authorities said.Aubrey Sims, 81, and Ronda Lynn Sims, 49, died at the scene shortly after the wreck, which happened about 4 p.m.Arkansas State Police say Aubrey Sims was driving a 2008 Chrysler south on the Arkansas 32 Bypass when the Chrysler "failed to yield" as it crossed the highway toward a Wal-Mart parking lot.The Chrysler was then hit by an oncoming Western Star tractor-trailer, according to a police report.The truck driver wasn't injured.The deaths were the 308th and 309th fatalities in traffic accidents so far this year, according to preliminary information.
