A Lottie man died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a car crash with a Louisiana state trooper on US 190 east of LA 81 in Pointe Coupee Parish, according to a Louisiana State Police report.
Henry Baise, 62, was driving his vehicle from a private drive onto US 190 where the trooper was traveling eastbound around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to the report. The two vehicles then collided and ended in the ditch in the westbound side of the road.
Officials say he later died in the hospital from his injuries.
The trooper suffered moderated injuries and was also taken to the hospital, according to the report. Toxicology samples will be taken from both drives as part of the routine investigation, officials say.
