Detroit Lakes, MN : Detroit Lakes native dies in N.D. crash on Sunday, 8th April 2018

A Detroit Lakes native who was living in LaMoure, N.D. died as a result of a two-vehicle crash on Sunday in Dickey County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Taylor Bliss, 21, died as a result of a crash at 5:34 p.m., on U.S. Highway 281 about 2 miles north of Ellendale, the patrol said. Bliss was driving south in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee when it slid out of control on a snow and ice-covered roadway and into the path of a northbound 2011 Ford F-150, driven by Daniel Blondo, 48, of Ellendale.

The F-150 struck the right side of the Grand Cherokee before coming to rest on the shoulder of the roadway. The Grand Cherokee came to rest in the ditch.
Bliss died at the scene, the patrol said. She was wearing a seat belt.

Blondo suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was transported by Ellendale Ambulance to Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center. Blondo was wearing a seat belt and an airbag deployed, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation by the patrol. Dickey County Sheriff's Office and Ellendale Fire Department also responded to the scene.
