Joplin, MO : Granby man killed in wreck on U.S. 60 in Newton County on Saturday, August 6, 2016
A Granby man was killed in an accident at 12:55 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 60, 1 mile east of Granby in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Trever Kelly, 44, was pronounced dead at 1:58 a.m. after being transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. He crossed the center line and ran off the road, and his car overturned. He had not been wearing his seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle, the patrol said.
Three people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 9:25 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 71, a half-mile north of the Arkansas state line, in McDonald County, according to the patrol.
Cory Alexander, 29, of Carterville; James Charlton, 44, of Harrisonville, Arkansas; and Juan Macias-Hernandez, 26, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, suffered minor injuries, the patrol said. The crash occurred when Alexander's car started to slide and struck Macias-Hernandez's car in the rear, which caused Macias-Hernandez's car to hit Charlton's car in the rear.
A Seneca infant sustained minor injuries in an accident at 3:40 p.m. on Route Y, 7 miles east of Seneca in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Rylee Wood, the 1-year-old passenger, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. A car driven by Damien Robinson, Seneca, was traveling north, went off the roadway and overturned, the patrol said.
