COTTONWOOD, CA : Three injured in Lake California crash on Thursday, 18th March 2021

Several people were injured in a collision on Lake California Drive Thursday morning.

Michael Webb, 42, of Cottonwood, was traveling west on Lake California Drive in a 2012 Dodge Ram with three passengers around 10:15 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Omar Valdez. Rex Tinnin, 78, of Cottonwood, at the same time, was traveling east on Lake California Drive in a 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

Webb made an unsafe turning movement and crossed into the opposing lane, Valdez said. The truck was then in front of Tinnin’s truck and the two collided.

Webb sustained lacerations to the right side of his head and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. A woman in his truck sustained injuries and was flown to Mercy Medical Center. An 11-year-old may have had major injuries and had to be taken to Mercy Medical Center, while a 3-year-old passenger was transported for possible injuries.

Tinnin was not seriously hurt and did not need medical transportation.
