Rock, WV : North Carolina woman killed when ATV goes off mountainside in West Virginia on Friday night, September 26, 2014

Police have identified a North Carolina woman who died after her ATV went off the side of a mountain in West Virginia. Mercer County sheriff's Deputy H.L. Walters says 38-year-old Katherine Greene of Apex, North Carolina, was pronounced dead while being transported to a hospital. Walters tells The Bluefield Daily Telegraph that Greene was riding with her husband and several friends when her ATV failed to negotiate a curve. The ATV went about 150 feet off the side of the mountain. Walters says there are no guardrails in the area where the accident occurred Friday night. He says Greene was wearing a helmet.
