DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC : 1 killed in US 178 crash with tow truck on Thursday, 18th April 2024

A driver was killed Thursday afternoon after being struck by a tow truck.
Lance Cpl. Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) said the crash happened on US 178 near Taylor Pond Road around 12:44 p.m.
A Toyota sedan and a Dodge tow truck were traveling west on US 178 when the Toyota attempted to turn south into a private drive and was struck by the tow truck.
The driver of the Toyota was killed and a passenger was taken to a local hospital.
Trooper Pye said the tow truck driver was not injured.
