VICTORVILLE, CA : Motorcyclist airlifted following crash into barbed-wire fence in the area of Spring Valley Lake on Monday, 16th July 2018

A 23-year-old motorcyclist suffered major injuries after he crashed into a barbed-wire fence and went down an embankment in the area of Spring Valley Lake Monday.

According to California Highway Patrol officials, Apple Valley resident Brandon Hill was driving a Suzuki GSXR1000 motorcycle west on Yates Road, east of Tahoe Road, at an undetermined speed at approximately 5:25 p.m.

“For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle made a right turn, which caused it to leave the roadway, colliding into a barbed-wire fence and landed down an embankment,” CHP officials said. “The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center by CHP helicopter H82 with major injuries.”

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a factor, CHP officials said, and the investigation into the collision is being conducted by the CHP Victorville Area Office. Anyone with information is urged to call 760-241-1186.
