East Peoria,IL : State police say East Peorian seriously injured in I-74 crash on April, Monday 9th 2018

An East Peoria man was seriously injured Monday in a traffic accident on Interstate 74, according to Illinois State Police.

The man was driving eastbound in a pickup truck when a semi in front of him hauling a combine struck the overpass at Pinecrest Drive. Debris from the combine hit the pickup about 6:30 p.m., a news release from state police said.

The East Peoria man, whose name has not been released, was transported to OSF HeathCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria with life-threatening injuries, according to state police.

The semi driver from East Prairie, Mo., had no reported injuries and the crash is under investigation, according to the release.
