Dorset, VT : Lawn tractor falls off trailer, causes crash on Route 30 Friday on September 12, 2014

State Police said a woman was injured on Route 30 when a lawn tractor fell off a trailer and collided with her vehicle. Police said the incident happened Friday at 10:59 a.m. Benjamin Maeder, 24, of Dorset, was driving west on Route 30 when the mower became unsecured from the trailer. The vehicle that collided with it was a 2010 Volkswagen Passat, driven by Carolyn E. Colin, 84, of Boca Raton, Fla. Colin was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center and treated for minor injuries while her car was towed from the scene with heavy front-end damage. Maeder was ticketed for having an unsecured load.
