Elkins, W.V : One person killed in a motor vehicle accident in Barbour County on Wednesday morning, October 26, 2016

Barbour County 911 officials have confirmed that one individual involved in a motor vehicle accident Wednesday morning died as a result of their injuries.

At about 1 a.m. Wednesday, emergency personnel were called to a single-vehicle accident on Route 38 near Sunrise Construction Co. in Barbour County.

Barbour County 911 officials reported it was a “multiple rollover” single-vehicle accident.

Route 38 was closed to traffic for about two hours after the incident.

Barbour County EMS, the Philippi Fire Department, Barbour County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police responded. The West Virginia State Police are investigating.
