Union,SC : A fatal single-car crash in Union County on July, Saturday 8th 2017

Troopers responded to a fatal single-car crash in Union County on Saturday.

Per troopers, three individuals were traveling west in a pickup truck on Jonesville Highway near Kelly Road when the accident occurred at approximately 6:04 p.m.

The driver ran off the left side of the road, struck a mailbox, a gas line and a tree, troopers confirm.

The driver was wearing a seat belt during the collision and was not ejected nor entrapped, troopers confirm. The individual was taken by EMS to Spartanburg Regional where they were later pronounced dead.

Coroner William Holcombe identified the driver as 68-year-old Robert G. Sprouse of Union. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

The two passengers were also injured and taken to Spartanburg Regional where their conditions are unknown.
