St. Paul, MN : Man critically injured in crash on Highway 280 exit in St. Paul on Sunday morning, January 1, 2017

A man riding in a vehicle that allegedly was traveling too fast suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-car crash that shut down the southbound University Avenue exit from Minnesota 280 for several hours Sunday morning, St. Paul police said.

Police are investigating what else might have caused the 9:45 a.m. crash near Eustis Street and Territorial Road. The man was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with life-threatening injuries.

The man who was driving suffered minor injuries.
