An accident amongst a total of five vehicles traveling south on State Route 95 caused a portion of the highway to close for a little more than an hour Sunday afternoon.
Lake Havasu City Police say that the driver of a yellow Volkswagen allegedly failed to stop upon approaching the intersection of State Route 95 and Mulberry Avenue, causing him to rear-end the vehicle in front of him.
The collision caused a chain reaction between four other vehicles, each rear-ending the other while stopped at the intersection around 11:45 a.m., according to Cpl. Kyle Ridgway, a shift supervisor at the police department.
