A Texas man was killed when his pickup rolled on an icy road 6 miles north of Gregory.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 50-year-old Hector Torres Ruiz, of Jacksonville, Texas, died Wednesday on Highway 47.

Troopers say he lost control, went into the east ditch and was thrown from the truck because he wasn't wearing a seat belt. The patrol says the three passengers in the vehicle received minor injuries.
