PORT JEFFERSON, NY : Man ejected from vehicle in crash on Long Island on Wednesday, February 22nd 2017
A man has been hospitalized after being ejected from his vehicle in a car crash on Long Island.
Authorities in Suffolk County say the man was travelling on State Route 347 in Port Jefferson Station around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday when his Jeep was struck by another vehicle as he attempted to make a left hand turn. Police tell Newsday (http://nwsdy.li/2lIVsk1) that the driver of the Jeep was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious head injuries.
The status of the other motorist is unknown.
Police did not identify either driver. Authorities say both vehicles have been impounded for safety evaluations.
