Philadelphia, PA : Three people dead and one injured in single-car crash on Philadelphia expressway on Wednesday, July 1, 2015

State police say three people were killed after a car crashed and burst into flames on a Philadelphia expressway overnight.

Police said the crash happened on the Schuylkill Expressway northwest of the center of the city at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Crews arrived to find the vehicle flipped on its side and engulfed in flames, and they later found three people dead inside.

One male found outside the car was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment.

Police said no other vehicles were involved, and it's unclear whether wet conditions were a factor. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
