VALLEJO, CA : Vallejo police investigate another deadly crash in city on Sunday, 9th September 2018

A woman was killed and a young child was injured late Saturday in a crash that police say is the 14th deadly vehicle-related incident of the year within the city.

The crash happened just before 11:20 p.m. when a vehicle hit a tree on Sonoma Boulevard north of Ryder Street. The vehicle then caught fire.Police reported Sunday that the driver of the vehicle died at the scene. A small child was pulled from the vehicle by a passer-by, police report. The child had what police described in a press release as minor cuts and some burns and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Child Protective Services was notified because the family of the woman who died and the child had not been identified, police report.
