Laurens, SC : Driver killed and two passengers injured in a deadly wreck in Laurens County on Monday, Nov 2, 2015

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly wreck in Laurens County on Monday.

Troopers said the driver of a 2014 Nissan pulled out in front a tractor trailer on SC-72 around 2:40 p.m. Monday.

The car was struck in the driver's door, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.

Coroner Nick Nichols identified the driver as 45-year-old James Brian Ashley of Lisbon Road.

Ashley was trapped in the car and had to be cut free from the vehicle, Nichols said.

Troopers said two passengers in the car were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
