Rotterdam, NY : Drunk Albany woman makes U-turn on interstate, crashes into truck on Saturday, October 4, 2014
Police say an Albany woman has been arrested on a drunken-driving charge after she drove the wrong way on Interstate 90 and hit a tractor-trailer.
The accident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday in the town of Rotterdam.
Police say 26-year-old Joanna Scott made a U-turn in westbound lane of I-90 and began traveling east while still in the westbound lane.
Police tell the Albany Times Union that Scott's Honda Accord crashed into a tractor-trailer, spun and came to rest partly in the westbound lane.
Scott was extricated from her car by fire and EMS responders. She is in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.
Scott was arrested on charges including DWI, marijuana possession and vehicle and traffic offenses.
No information on an attorney for Scott was available.
