Richmond, VA : Police identify man killed in Suffolk auto-pedestrian crash on Sunday, March 12th 2017

A Man died after he was hit by a truck in Suffolk Sunday night, according to police spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The accident occurred in the 1400 block of Bridge Road and was reported to emergency communication about 9:20 p.m.

Responders learned that a pickup truck hit a man was hit while he was in the roadway, Klink said, adding that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene.

Medics treated the man who was hit and transported him to the hospital, where he died, Klink said.

Police identified the man as Ryan Vannier, 23, of Suffolk.

Northbound traffic in the 1400 block of Bridge Road was closed after the accident, and has since reopened, according to VDOT.
