Vermilion Twp, OH : Woman injured in motorcycle crash on State Route 2 in Erie County on Sunday, Aug 9, 2015

A woman was injured Sunday when her motorcycle was struck by another vehicle, according to the Sandusky Highway Patrol Post.

Renita Foster, 47, of North Ridgeville was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious injuries.

Around 6:10 p.m., Foster, who was parked on the right shoulder of State Route 2, was struck by another vehicle when she attempted to merge from the shoulder into the left lane.

The driver of the vehicle, Amanda McCullough, 29, of Lowellville, was driving eastbound in the left lane when she hit the back of Foster's motorcycle.

Foster was thrown off the motorcycle. She was wearing a helmet, but it fell off during impact.

McCullough was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Foster was driving a 2012 Yamaha Star 900 motorcycle. McCullough was driving a 2015 Silver Buick Encore.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The crash is still under investigation, and no citation has been issued at this time.
