Rowan County ,NC : Teen charged after one person killed and two others injured in two-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon ,May 29th 2015

A teen has been charged after one person was killed and others injured in a two-vehicle accident in Rowan County Friday afternoon.

The fatal wreck happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Rockwell Road and Old Beatty Ford Road, in the eastern part of the county.

Officials say 21-year-old Amber Denise Basinger was killed in the crash.

According to state troopers, Faisal Al-Julaipi and Basinger were driving from her home in Rockwell when Al-Julaipi didn't stop at a stop sign. He reportedly pulled right in front of a Ford Explorer. The SUV ended up running into the passenger side of the 2015 Mustang GT where Basinger was sitting.

The driver of the Explorer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Al-Julaipi lives in Charlotte and was a student at UNC Charlotte, according to authorities. Basinger is believed to have been a UNCC student as well, but they think Basinger and Al-Julaipi had only known each other for a few days before the accident.
