Manatee County, FL : No students injured in school bus crash on Friday morning, May 13, 2016

No students were injured when a school bus was involved in a crash Friday morning.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol:

At about 8 a.m., a 2008 Pontiac G-6 driven by Wintcha Joseph, 21, of Bradenton was traveling westbound on 58th Avenue Drive East when it approached a stop sign at the intersection with 5th Street East. Joseph applied the brakes but the vehicle failed to stop and entered the intersection, where it collided with the left front of a school bus.

The bus driver, Jarita Andrews, 65, of Bradenton and nine children on the bus were not injured. Joseph sustained minor injuries and a passenger in her car was not injured.

Joseph was cited for improper tag display, learner's permit violation and defective equipment, according to the FHP.
