LOUISVILLE, KY : Teenager killed after being hit by off-duty Louisville officer in unmarked vehicle on Thursday, 14th March 2024

The person killed after being hit by an unmarked police vehicle driven by an off-duty officer has been identified as a 17-year-old boy.

Police said the crash happened around 8 p.m. in the 2400 block of Bank Street. That’s in the Portland neighborhood. LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the officer was headed east on Bank Street when he struck Clay Twymann, who was not on a crosswalk.

Twymann was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
