A man from Norwood was killed in a vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer in Stanly County Friday, according to officials.
The crash happened before 4 p.m. on Highway 52 near Dennis Road.
Troopers said Jeffrey Aldridge was was driving north on US-52 when he ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and hit a tractor-trailer when he crossed back into the center of the road.
From WBTV's Sky3, it appeared a car and a tractor trailer may have collided head-on. Both vehicles were very heavily damaged.
Aldridge was pronounced dead when crews arrived on scene.
Highway patrol said he was wearing a seat belt. Officials are still investigating.
